Chemical and Physical Analyses

  • Stability test and accelerated stability tests.
  • Chemical determinations, physicochemical: type of mixture (emulsion o/w or w/o, suspension, lotion, powder, aerosol) organoleptic properties (colour, odour, whenever relevant); pH for aqueous mixtures; viscosity and density for liquid forms;
  • Compatibility with packaging products in accelerated stability tests with regards to transfer and sealing, analysis of the composition of the plastics.
  • Instrumental analyses with HPLC and UHPLC paired with UV, DAD, RID, FLD detectors;
  • Instrumental analyses using GC-FID, GC-ECD, GC-MASS, ICP-OES, FTIR-UATR, UV-VIS, GFAAS;
  • Titration of active ingredients and Titration of preservatives  (UE regulation no. 1223/2009, annex V);
  • Analysis of multiple residual impurities in finished products or raw materials, for the identification of organic contaminants such as phthalates, pesticides, nitrosamines and substances listed in Annex II of the UE Regulation no. 1223/2009;
  • Ultratrace analysis to support the claim “Paraben-Free” and for the identification of residual preservatives in production lines and “cleaning validation”;
  • Identification of allergens in complete products or natural raw materials;
  • Identification of inorganic contaminants in finished products or raw materials: toxic (Hg, Pb, Sb) or allergenic (Ni, Co, Cr, Cd) metals;
  • Migration tests in artificial sweat or saliva to identify sensitizing metals in anhydrous cosmetic products;
  • Dropping point tests for lipsticks and waxes according to the European Pharmacopoeia protocol;
  • Validation of analytical methods according to the ICH guidelines for medical devices and products in Europe and North America;
  • Photostability testing for products containing solar filters with SUNTEST CPS +, evaluation of UV solar filters and UHPLC/HPLC analysis before and after irradiation;
  • Screening of plant extracts: protocol design for industrial production scale-up;
  • Dynamometric measurement of the adhesion of cosmetic depilation waxes and strips or sticking plasters.
